Jiangsu Provincial Government and Macau S.A.R. have signed the MOU of jointly preparing to construct the Jiangsu-Macau Cooperation Zone. Shi Taifeng, the Governor of Jiangsu Province, and Cui shi’an, the Chief Executive of Macau S.A.R., have signed on behalf of the two sides the other day to commonly decide to cooperate developing Jiangsu-Macau Cooperation Zone in Changzhou, Jiangsu.

The Vice Governor Zhang Lei, the Secretary General Wang Qi of the provincial government, and Mayor Fei Gaoyun of Changzhou attended the ceremony.

Before the signing of the MOU, Shi Taifeng had a meeting with Cui Shi’an. Shi said that Jiangsu and Macau boast a history of cooperation, and during the new age, Jiangsu will work hard together with Macau to join in the state development strategy and explore Portugal Language Country market. Jiangsu-Macau Cooperation Zone is the important carrier of deepening cooperation between the two parties. And Jiangsu will further complete the planning, accelerate the construction of the infrastructure and expand the industrial cooperation with Macau and Portugal Language Countries to build the zone into a model of Macau-Mainland cooperation under the framework of “one country, two systems”.

Cui Shi’an said the S.A.R. government hope to make good use of the advantages of the systems and inspire innovation vitality, upgrade the cooperation level of the two sides and realize sustainable development and win-win, through the preparing and building of the Jiangsu-Macau Cooperation Zone.

During the visit in Macau, Shi Taifeng also met with Wang Zhimin, the Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau S.A.R. He said that Jiangsu has been carried out the Central People’s Government’s policies in recent years to cooperate with Macau and Portugal Language Countries, and he hopes the Office could continue caring about and guiding the construction of the Jiangsu-Macau Cooperation Zone to make it become the new highlight of Jiangsu-Macau cooperation.

Wang Zhimin said that Jiangsu attaches great importance to the advantage of Macau’s Sino-Portugal platform, and in recent years Jiangsu and Macau have formed normal cooperation mechanism with Portugal Language Countries in economic, trade, culture, education and other fields through series of measures. The Office appreciates the contribution to the successful practice of “one country, two systems” in Macau made by Jiangsu, and will continue giving support to in-depth development of Jiangsu-Macau cooperation.

Jiangsu will attach great importance to the joint construction of the Zone, cooperate with the partners from Portugal Language Countries with the unique advantage of Macau’s “one country, two systems”, and together develop advanced manufacturing, financial service, health and medical care, cross-border e-commerce, culture creative and other industries. Meanwhile, Jiangsu will complete the development planning of the Zone together with Macau, and further strengthen the industrial and market fusion with Macau and Portugal Language Countries to make contribution to moderately diversified development of Macau’s economy.
