Beijing Siemens Automotive E-Drive Systems Co., Ltd. Changzhou has opened on July 5 at WIZ(Wujin National Hi-tech Industrial Zone). This new project will accelerate the implementation of the whole-car project of BAIC Motor, and bring a new fortune 500 company to Wujin. Shi Zhijun, the Deputy Mayor, the Secretary of Wujin CPC District Committee, attended the acitivity.

The project is a joint-venture of BAIC and Siemens with a total investment of 370 million RMB, and a registered capital of 240 million RMB, mainly focusing on the R&D and production of new energy automotive e-drive systems. The phase 1 boasts 6900 square meters workshop.

The person in charge from Siemens said that the French fortune 500 company Valeo will join in the R&D and production to improve the performance of the new energy automotive e-drive systems.

Automotive and parts industry is an important pillar of building the national first class smart manufacturing city, and now Changzhou is one of the second group of national new energy automotive promotion and application cities.a
