Changzhou Sino-German Industrial Innovation & Cooperation Center Starts Construction in Science & Education Town

On May 18, Changzhou Sino-German Industrial Innovation & Cooperation Center started construction in Changzhou Science & Education Town. The Secretary of Changzhou CPC Municipal Committee Yan Li and the Consul General of Germany Peter Rothen in Shanghai launched the construction together.


Xu Guanghui, Member of Standing Committee of Changzhou CPC Municipal Committee, Party Secretary of Changzhou Science & Education Town, attended and gave a speech. The Deputy Mayor Li Xiaoping hosted the ceremony.


The overall planning area of this project covers 68.4 thousand square meters, mainly high-rise buildings with Bauhaus style. The Unit B of No.6 R&D Hub under construction boasts an area of 15.4 thousand square meters, and is estimated to be complete by the end 2017. This center will attach more importance to the attraction of German enterprises with good prospect and IPR. After it completes, the center will not only serve Changzhou but also influences Southern-Jiangsu area, and form a high-end industrial design cluster which is most representative in Yangtze River Delta.


Xu guanghui addressed that this center stands for the new beginning of Science & Education Town’s international cooperation, and hope we can learn experiences of innovation and upgrade from Germany, and promote the transformation of Changzhou’s manufacturing industry.


Peter Rothen said that Changzhou is one of the key cities in which German are investing, and in the future, German Government will positively support the construction of Sino-German Industrial Innovation & Cooperation Center to benefit both China and Germany.


According to reports, the trade between Changzhou and Germany broke through 1.5 billion USD, and nearly 150 German enterprises have invested in Changzhou, and over 20 projects are invested in Germany by Changzhou.
