After the activities in Korea, Mayor Fei Gaoyun led Changzhou delegation to Japan for economic & trade negotiations together with Jiangsu Province delegation.

May 12, the delegation attended Jiangsu Japan cooperation communication conference in Tokyo. Fei Gaoyun had given introductions on Changzhou’s intelligent manufacturing industry. Meanwhile, on behalf of Changzhou Municipal Government, Fei Gaoyun signed a project on Sino-Japan lake basins treatment with Japan State Environment Research Institute.

In recent years, cooperation relationship between Changzhou and Japan grows closer. In 2015, Changzhou’s total trade with Japan reached 3.1 billion USD, in which export is 2.07 billion USD, import is 1.03 billion USD. By the end of 2015, there are accumulatively 629 Japanese enterprises being approved in Changzhou, with the contract capital of 2.33 billion USD, registered capital of 1.91 billion USD. The Japanese enterprises in Changzhou are mainly focusing on industries like machinery, metallurgy, electronic, electric, garment, light industry, etc. Till now, 25 Japanese fortune 500 companies, e.g., Komatsu, Bridgestone, Toshiba, Sumitomo, Suzuki, Toyota, Daiwa House, etc., have invested 40 projects here.
