On May 9, Changzhou German Enterprise Association was officially established in Changzhou Science & Education Town. The Vice Mayor Li Xiaoping unveiled for it.

At present, there are over 150 German enterprises in Changzhou. 1133 enterprises, like Trina Solar, DFAM, Hengli, have export business to Germany. This newly established association will promote the communication, business negotiation and industry cooperation of the German enterprises in Changzhou.

At the same time, Changzhou Essen Urban Sustainable Development Platform is also signed and established. The both sides will further encourage investment from and toward the both sides, and together build a communication platform for Chinese and German experts and scholars, and create a model of Sino-EU Sustainable Urbanization cooperation. Now the first cooperation project has been already launched in Wujin.

Jiang Hong, the member of Changzhou Essen Urban Sustainable Development Project Group, associate professor of Southeast University, told the reporter that everyone is talking about nostalgia and the city’s characteristic, and we have done several researches these two years on water environment of Hutang Old Town and the coastal area of West Taihu Lake. And we also proposed renovation measures towards the transformation and upgrade of Southern-Jiangsu Mode old industrial clusters.
