On May 9, Yan Li, the Secretary of Changzhou CPC Municipal Committee, met with Ethiopia delegation in the administration center, and had talks on the promotion of economic & trade cooperation.

Yan Li introduced Changzhou’s economic and society development situation, and said that Changzhou boasts close cooperation relationship with Ethiopia. Last year, the trade between the both sides reached 10.58 million USD, increased by 8.4%. And this quarter, the export to Ethiopia increased by 42%.

Yan Li stated that China is pushing forward the strategy of “One Belt and One Road”, and this is an important node for oversea investment. Ethiopia positively responded and made economic development plan till 2025. There will be much space for cooperation between Changzhou and Ethiopia.

The Minister of Industry of Ethiopia explained their plan of building Ethiopia into the most important manufacturing country in Africa. And Changzhou is the origin of China’s textile industry. They hope Changzhou could regard Ethiopia as the priority destination for oversea investment.

During the visit in Changzhou, Ethiopia delegation went to Dongao Textile Group, Black Peony Group, etc.
