Yan Li Attends the Opening Ceremony of STA Changzhou
On April 22, STA Changzhou, which was invested by a subsidiary of Wuxi AppTec, started operation in Changzhou National Hi-tech District. Yan Li, the Secretary of Changzhou CPC Municipal Committee, and vice mayor Li Xiaping attended the opening ceremony.
Wuxi AppTec is a leading global pharmaceutical, bio-tech and medical device R&D outsourcing service company. It has operations both in China and USA. The company was founded in December 2000, and is based in Shanghai Waigaoqiao Bonded Zone. It has established long term cooperation partnership with over 700 clients globally, including top 20 pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer, Merck, Lilly, Roche, and top 10 biochemistry companies.
STA Changzhou is a joint-venture invested by two subsidiaries of Wuxi AppTec, and is an integrated industrial chain base of medicine R&D and GMP production. The total investment reaches 140 million USD, and the registered capital is 72 million USD. It mainly produces anti-cancer, anti-AIDS, anti-diabetic, anti-depression, anti-rheumatoid arthritis drugs, with 254 tons annual production, and its turnover is estimated to reach 3 billion yuan.
