Changzhou’s Smart Grid industry is relatively developed and is one of the largest ultra-high power transmission and transformation equipment manufacturing bases in China.

It boasts a batch of leading back-bone enterprises like Changzhou Toshiba Transformer Co. Ltd., Changzhou XD Transformer Co. Ltd. Huapeng Group and Bori Power. And formed a complete industrial chain ranging from High and low voltage transformer and switch, the large capacity cable to High efficiency and energy saving electric power electronic device as well as testing technology. In Changzhou, there are currently 200 large scale smart grid enterprises. Among them, 70 enterprises realized an output value of 100 million RMB and the number of Hi-tech enterprises reached 46, Hi-tech products above provincial-level reached 120. In the first 9 months of 2014, the output value of smart grid industry in Changzhou surpassed 85 billion RMB, an increase of 26.6% year-on-year.

The 800KV and 1000KV Extra High Voltage transformer made by Xidian growing trend of Smart Grid Equipment. The manufacturing technology of Ultra-high voltage cable accessories of Changzhou Amkor has also reached the world first-class. The high-speed passenger special gas insulated GIS switchgear made by Changzhou Pacific electric power equipment (group) co., LTD has filled in the domestic blank.
